Better Broadband Subsidy Scheme
The Government has committed to giving access to 2Mbps download speed (a basic broadband service) to every premises in the UK. As part of this commitment Connecting Shropshire, in conjunction with Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK), is making available the option of a subsidised broadband installation for eligible premises.
The Better Broadband Subsidy Scheme provides support towards the cost of the installation of a broadband connection.
You will only be eligible if your premises has access to download speeds of less than 2Mbps.
The latest update from BDUK is that the Scheme is expected to run until the end of 2019.

If you think you are eligible, you can apply for a Subsidy Code, which will enable you to order a subsidised broadband connection from any of the service providers that are part of the scheme. To find out which approved suppliers operate in Shropshire, go to: http://bit.ly/2b8JQCx. Each of the providers offer a variety of packages based on the amount of data you need and the speed of the connection.
PLEASE NOTE: the application process is being upgraded so you won’t be able to apply to the Scheme from noon on 31/12/18 for 2-3 weeks.
